I reached my office at half past eight in the morning. I did some of the backlog. [Mr. Edward Saoma], Director-General of FAO [Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations] came. He asked for a private meeting. After discussing about FAO, he asked me to help free two German hostages in Lebanon. He is Lebanese and believes that the economic problems caused the fall of the government, which is partially caused by the hostages.

Ministers of FAO came. There were about twenty people. It was a good meeting. The director general and some of them spoke and praised my policies and elections and the speed of reconstruction and reforms. I also spoke briefly. At their request, we took a group photo.

Mr. [Mohammed Mohammadi] Ray Shahri, [representative of the religious guardian and supervisor of Iranian pilgrims], along with his colleagues came to the Hajj mission and headquarters. They gave a report on the corrective measures in the organization of Hajj and asked for my opinion on how to do the work well.

In the evening, the Economic Council had a meeting; There was a negotiation about production items with government and competitive and floating currencies. I stayed in my office at night and did the rest of the work until midnight.
