I stayed at home all day; because the representatives had attended the Ashura ceremonies in their constituencies, we declared today a holiday. I spent most of my time reading about the history of Iran’s political parties, the affairs of the Fourth Majles, and the rise of Reza Shah. Last night, they carried out a large and successful operation against the counterrevolutionaries in Sardasht. The President and the Prime Minister do not agree on the representative to the [Supervisory Council] of IRIB and on some of the new ministers.

They brought the reports from the Majles. I studied them for two or three days. There is nothing particularly important in the news. At night, they had shown a summary of the film of my trip to the south. I watched the film of containing the Norouz No. 3 well. I called Dr. Velayati and told him to follow up on the issue of the Soviet opposition to American intervention in the Persian Gulf. Today we carried out a large-scale operation in Sardasht against the main centers of the counterrevolutionaries, inflicting serious blows on them.
