Mr. Dr. [Hasan] Rouhani came to my office before the parliament session. He gave a report on the progress of setting up defenses and repairing equipment and complained about the lack of cooperation of the army. The news of Mr. Montazeri's leadership, which was approved in the meeting of experts, has been headlined by newspapers and has been interpreted and analyzed in the world media.

In the reports, the hijacked Egyptian plane is the most important issue of the day. In the public meeting, there was a discussion about the production activity bill of the private sector. After breathing, the government withdrew [the bill] and we were relieved. At noon, a representative came to my office. He asked for help for drinking water and [building] a maternity hospital and for his own needs.

Mr. Fazel Herandi informed that since the French embassy gave visas to the delegation late, we have announced this. [Mr. Mahdavi] our ambassador came to Kenya and spoke about the poverty of the Kenyan people and the Kenyan government's policy of weakening Muslims.

In the evening, the workers [of the Parliament] came and we discussed the new administrative chart of the Parliament. Several pilots came and complained about the ruling line of the air force. A group of members of the students' Islamic associations came. They complained about the misbehavior of the Tahakim Vahdat office and asked me for help. I invited them to unity.

The Supreme Council of Defense had a meeting last night, we discussed about the insinuations of Afghanistan about the Sistan water that comes from Afghanistan. It was decided to confront them and take more political measures to get more water.

After the meeting, we talked with Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei about the war and the new ministers. In the night, Mr. Colonel Tarabi [the head of the Imam's advisory office in the army] informed that the navy had seized a Kuwaiti ship [in the Persian Gulf] while British and French warships were watching.
