Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – March 25, 1987

I was at home. Mehdi went to his friend's house to study. I listened to the news on VOA and BBC radio. The scandal of the White House is still at the top of the news and the Persian Gulf issues have been added to it. The news about the Iranian revolution has a lot of attraction in the media.

I wrote the memories. This year, I organized a brief diary for getting lost. Chastity and some children are very interested in seeing my memories in order to be informed about the affairs of the country. If I consider them as non-mahram, they will be upset and if I inform them about all confidential events, it is not expedient. Inevitably, last year and this year, in another office, I write unimportant and insensitive events for them to see.

Before noon, Ahmad Agha came and conveyed the Imam's greetings and love. I wrote a letter to the Imam regarding the necessity of solving some problems that no one but him can solve: amending the constitution, the number of representatives, the report of the parliament's deliberations, the composition of the Guardian Council, the administration of the judiciary, the unfounded sharia and custom traditions, the adjustment of foreign policy and the problem of the army and the IRGC and foreign policy and extremes in the name of religion and revolution. Lunch was brought from Imam's office at noon. I ate alone.

At noon, Mr. [Khosro] Aruj [in charge of the Ansar al-Imam Protection Corps] came. He gave his own report and the status of the security forces. In the evening, two people from the 20th Ramadan Armored Brigade came. They gave explanations about the armored facilities of the IRGC and consulted one of them to solve the problem of the case. I asked Mr. [Gholamreza] Aghazadeh [Oil Minister] about the damage caused to the Azarpad wharf and the Dana and Oj two-ships; It has not been very much.
