Early in the morning, I called the front. All three camps have broken the enemy's line and made some progress, but they have not reached all the goals. Last night, the Iraqi plane's bomb hit two houses in Zafar and Zargande streets [in the north of Tehran], killing three people and injuring several others. There was no significant damage. Today, some of Tehran's representatives went to the place [of the bomb] to console them.

Before the start of the meeting, I gave the news [operations in the cities] to the representatives and came to my office to control the situation of the front and war news. Hitting Iraq's Kirkuk with rockets made them panic and kept silent. Ahmad Agha informed that due to Iraq's attack on Tehran, Imam has lifted the ban on Baghdad. The base was told to prepare the missile to hit the sensitive areas of Baghdad.

Since midnight today, we have accepted the proposal of the United Nations and have not attacked, but Iraq's attacks today have had little success.

In the evening, we had a meeting of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution. We appointed the heads of planning groups [of universities]. Then we sat down to consult with the heads of forces about the war and firing rockets at Baghdad. It was decided that we will not fire [missiles at Baghdad] tonight. We ordered night silence in Tehran and informed the fronts that they will fight tonight to complete the operation. I came home at night. At the end of the night, Mr. Rahim Safavi said that we are ready to act and [to start the attack], I gave a message to the fighters.
