I studied until eight in the morning. [Mr. Farhadnia] Our ambassador came to Romania and gave a report on the situation in Romania and asked for a political course of action with the Eastern Bloc. The women representatives came and demanded a discussion in the Friday prayer [sermons] about women's participation in social issues. Representatives of West Azerbaijan came and complained about the governor.

In the evening, the board of the parliament had a meeting. The affairs of the parliament and the needs of the representatives were discussed. At night, we were guests of the Prime Minister with the leaders of the forces. The candidacy of engineer [Mehdi] Bazargan [in the presidential election] was discussed. It seems that the Guardian Council does not consider him competent. The war was also discussed.

Mr. Rezaei informed that the Quds Chahar operation was successful in Horal Howayza and on the northern front, Mr. Sayad [Shirazi] is still hesitant about the implementation of the second stage of Qadir operation.

I went to the assembly to sleep at night. In the meeting of the leaders of the forces, we decided to organize a seminar of clerics of the people of the book in the world. Regarding Afghanistan, a decision was made based on the talks between Prime Minister Mousavi and Fidel Castro [Cuban leader], if the Soviet Union agrees to withdraw from Afghanistan, we can cooperate to prevent American and Western influence [in this country].
