The rate of the US dollar and other major foreign currencies has risen against the rial, with the dollar crossing 900 tomans, which is detrimental; the government must take action to curb the devaluation of the rial, as it will ultimately impose heavy inflation on the country and the people. The value of the euro—the shared currency of European nations—has fallen while the dollar has strengthened; previously, it was thought that the euro would be a tough competitor to the dollar.
