We headed to the parliament early in the morning. There was a lot of snow last night. I was on the road for an hour and forty minutes. We had an appointment with the leaders of the Afghan Mujahideen at eight o'clock; I arrived at the parliament forty minutes late. They waited. Dr. Velayati reported on the seminar and private talks.

Then I went to the meeting. Mr. [Sibghatullah] Mujadidi, spokesman of the Seven Coalition [Mujahideen in Pakistan], Mr. Khalili, spokesman of the Eight Shia Coalition in Iran, and Mr. Qazi Amin [Waqad], leader of one of the groups [= Islamic Union of Afghanistan], held a seminar on the Islamic nature of Afghanistan's jihad and satisfaction with the Islamic Republic's aid. He said and I spoke in detail and emphasized unity and respect for Islam and not giving privileges to foreigners and respect for the families of martyrs. After the meeting, I spoke to four Afghan women who were with them.

Mr. Dr. Velayati reported that [Burhanuddin] Rabbani, who has the strongest group, had told him to talk to the Russians about breaking the deadlock.

The Friday prayer leader came to Mahshahr. He received two million tomans to build a school and compensate for the damage caused to the city, and brought some gold and jewelry for the war. The Friday prayer leader of the Suleiman Mosque came. He received help and advice for the promotion of the Dawn Decade. The petroleum minister got permission on spending half the money from the sale of the district's old pipes to build the city hospital. Because of the oil running out in the [Mosque of Suleiman] area, there are large amounts of old pipes left unused that the residents of the area are looking to sell.

Mr. Fatouhi, our old neighbor, came and talked about current issues and the National Front and the [Dariush] Forohar Party. Mr. Fakhruddin Hejazi came in the afternoon. He told me about the trip to Europe and the need to be careful about Kaplan, and as usual he complained about my lack of attention.

In the evening [Mr. Majid Ghasemi] the head of the central bank came and explained the bad economic situation. I told him to tell the Imam and the representatives and suggest a solution. Members of the Industries Commission came. They spoke about the need to develop exports and facilitate exports.

I went to Mr. Mousavi Ardabili's office at night at his request. They complained about the weakening of the Supreme Judicial Council and asked for help to strengthen the council and increase its powers. At the meeting of the Expediency Assembly, we approved the quality of administration of critical areas. On the way home, we got into a car with Ahmad Agha and discussed Mr. Mousavi Ardabili's contents. They agreed to talk to the Imam. I got the news at 10:30 pm and went to sleep.
