At 8:30 in the morning, we went to Shahid Isar school on Mirdamad Street. I rang the revolution bell at three minutes past nine. This ceremony was held all over the country on the occasion of the anniversary of Imam's arrival in Tehran at the moment of the plane landing. I spoke for the children. From there I went to the site of the Atomic Energy Organization. I visited different departments of the organization until half past seven. Gamma rays, centrifugal lasers, reactors and other sectors are making good progress, but the limitation in supplying the needs slows things down. I did not go to the assembly, I came home. Mr. [Mohammed Jafar] Mahalati [Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nations] came and gave a report on the situation at the United Nations. He believes that the Security Council will not be serious about the implementation of Resolution 598 and that Iraq has solved its problem with America and the West. He also brought a watch as a gift from his father. He asked about the policy of dealing with America; I said that we will go as far as taking property and helping to free the American hostages.
