In the afternoon, Dr. Velayati, the Foreign Minister, came and spoke about the results of the visits by the delegations from New Zealand, Pakistan, Yugoslavia, and Bulgaria, the economic agreements, the dispatch of delegations to African countries, and the signs of the Revolution's stability. He was also seeking a solution regarding the pursuit of "Yof," an East German spy who had come under judicial prosecution and had taken refuge in their embassy, creating a problem in relations; I said that to obtain leads, it would be better to interrogate him and then release him.
We also discussed several Iraqi opposition figures who are fighting with Syrian support and whose passports had recently been confiscated by our agents, while Syria is requesting that their problem be resolved.
