Early in the morning, we left for Qom to participate in the seminar of the provincial Friday imam councils. We arrived in Qom at half past eight. First, I went to Ayatollah Montazeri's house and talked a bit and participated in the meeting with him. I spoke in detail and made comments about the quality of the Friday imams' dealings with the elections; was noticed. A vote was taken and it was approved. I saved the seminar from the problems it had for issuing resolutions and making decisions.
I went to Mr. Montazeri's house again. We had detailed negotiations. He is upset that Beit and his people around him have been criticized and suspected. They also quoted some of the opinions of the community of educators [Qom Theological Seminary] about the government and me and [Ayatollah] Mr. Khamenei and gave guidance. They criticized the pressure that the IRGC exerted against Bidar clerics. They were upset that the IRGC opposed their own Beit. They sent messages through me to the imam and the president about their house. I was his guest for lunch. I rested a little. I did an interview on TV. I went to the shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH) and then moved to Tehran.
I arrived late to the session of the presiding committee [Majlis]. We made decisions about renewing the elections to participate in the inter-parliamentary and to take over the site of the social insurance hospital - next to the old parliament. On the first night, the news came that Iraq had fired rockets at the cities of Andimeshk, Dezful, Behbahan and Ramhormuz and bombed Nahavand under the pretext of retaliating against Kuwait's explosions. The bombing of Kuwait has nothing to do with Iran, and Iraq insidiously accuses Iran and presents itself as the defender of the Arabs. Therefore, I did not go home at night and stayed in my office. I spoke with [Ayatollah] Mr. Khamenei to retaliate for the attack and revenge. They had just returned from a trip. I myself spoke with Colonel Sayad [Shirazi, commander of the army's ground forces].
