Haj Ahmad Aqa came and, regarding [Khosrow] Tehrani, the head of the Prime Minister's Intelligence Office, said that since there is no evidence for the accusation, it is not good to offend the servants of the Republic. We also discussed the impeachment of Mr. Nateq Nouri, and that he should be supported; because he is a good and strong interior minister. Mr. Nateq [Nouri] called and asked for the status of the impeachment to be clarified before the Majlis recess; I said it makes no difference whether it is announced or not, it should remain in this state until after the Majlis recess.
In the afternoon, the Supreme Economic Council held a meeting at the President's office. Decisions were made regarding the fight against inflation. Then I had a private meeting with him. We had useful discussions about [ways of resolving] the differences among the factions existing in Islamic society and the manner of taking positions. Colonel Sayyad Shirazi came. He described the plan for the next operation; we approved it. They are good plans. He complained about the Ideological-Political Department; it was decided that we would have a meeting with them. We had dinner there; they had soup and tas kebab. I went to the Majlis to sleep. I read the news; an airplane from France has been hijacked in the skies over Austria. The initial reports indicate that the hijackers may be Muslims.
