I stayed home; I prepared the Persian text of the Arabic sermon for translation. I read the reports. I reviewed the article I had previously written under the title “Nahj al-Balagha and Politics” for the Nahj al-Balagha Congress, for revision. I spoke with Mr. Nateq Nouri [Minister of the Interior] about the impeachment.

I stayed at home; I prepared the Persian text of the Arabic sermon for translation. I read the reports. I reviewed, for revision, the article I had previously written under the title «Nahj al-Balagha and Politics» for the Nahj al-Balagha Congress. I spoke with Mr. Nateq-Nouri [Minister of the Interior] about the impeachment. He consulted me about the text of the decree dismissing the mayor of Tehran. In the afternoon, we had a meeting of the Supreme Economic Council; I did not attend.

[Ayatollah] Mr. Khamenei called by telephone and asked me to attend; since going there is difficult, I declined. I am upset by the traffic on the streets with several cars. I spoke with Dr. [Mohammad-Ali] Najafi, Minister of Science, about the building of the Research Organization - which Dr. Jasbi wants for the Islamic Azad University - and he said that they themselves need it.

My office informed me that the Iraqis had hit one of our ships. In the afternoon, Mr. [Abdolmajid] Maadi-Khah called from London and said that before coming to Iran, he wanted to go to Mecca. At night, close relatives were our guests. In the afternoon, Mr. Mohammad Darvish came and brought a letter from Mr. [Mohsen] Rafiqdoost [Minister of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] complaining about the prime minister and the Minister of Heavy Industries.
