I worked at home until ten in the morning. I went to visit the Imam; in the outer office of the Imam, Mr. [Kazem Seifian], the mayor of Tehran, and a group of others were present; the issue of lands transferred by the city's religious judge was being discussed. They had been transferred very arbitrarily and without any accounting; although a number of needy people had obtained land.

In the Imam's presence, we spoke about Messrs. Mahdavi [Kani] and Azari [Qomi]'s complaints to him and his lack of attention to their views. The Imam himself had given them the necessary answer. I asked the Imam for permission to convey his opinion to the representatives regarding the oversight of the three branches of government over the IRIB. He agreed. I delivered Mr. [Mohammad] Yazdi's message concerning the surrender of some of the miscreants in Sistan and Baluchestan, and he said that the relevant officials should give their opinion. I conveyed the statements of the Libyan ambassador and Colonel Qaddafi's oral message. I suggested to him that, for a change of air, he occasionally go outside the city; he laughed as a sign of disagreement. He does not go out of the house at all
