I went to the Majlis. Before the session, I met with Mr. [Mohammad-Mahdi] Rabbani Amolshi. He had some points about the Ministry of Intelligence, the Imam's view of the minister, and other matters. We also reviewed the [final] statement of the Assembly of Experts. In the open session, before the agenda, I gave a brief speech about the missile launched by Iraq at Andimeshk. Some have nominated me for the council overseeing IRIB; I deferred accepting until later.
During the recess, I learned that they were collecting signatures to impeach Mr. Nateq-Nouri [Minister of the Interior], and the number had reached about forty. I summoned Mr. [Mohammad] Rashidian [Abadan representative] and told him not to do it. At noon, Mr. Habibian, deputy of the Ministry of Posts and Telegraphs, came to my office; he consulted me about going to Qom to study or accepting the presidency of Bu-Ali Sina University in Hamadan; I favored the latter. He also had some objections to the Cultural Revolution Headquarters. Mr. [Ahmad] Ali-Pour, representative of Sardasht, came; he complained about the Revolutionary Guards' conduct in Kurdistan. I told him to write it down. He does not want to write it.
The commission on revising the positions of the [Islamic Republic] Party and then the central council of the [Islamic Republic] Party held meetings. In the council, the new ministers of commerce, agriculture, mines and metals, and labor were discussed; all except agriculture were approved. The decision on agriculture was left to the prime minister and the president.
I came home late. Ahmad Aqa had called to say that tomorrow I should go to the Imam's residence for an examination of my heart and not go to the hospital. A few days ago, I felt pain in my chest. Mr. [Mohammad] Mousavi-Khoiniha obtained my promise by telephone to go to the Alborz School premises to give a speech to the clerics accompanying the Hajj caravans.
