Proponents and opponents spoke. The debate continues. Most of the speeches were political and had little to do with the budget, especially the two-twelfths [provisional budget].
During the noon recess, Mr. Khamenei spoke about the details of his discussions with the Imam and the topics he wants to raise with the Imam in tomorrow's meeting. He spoke of the Imam's office opposing the Friday meeting and even not announcing it on the news.
In the afternoon, I spoke over the phone with Mr. Rajai and emphasized expediting the submission of the annual budget to Parliament. I called Mr. [Mohammad-Reza] Mahdavi Kani, Minister of Interior, and we discussed submitting the bill to extend the deadline for the election law and abolishing two-stage elections.
I spoke over the phone with Mr. Karimi, head of the Mostazafan Foundation (Bonyad-e Mostazafan), regarding the morning newspaper Azadegan, and with Engineer [Mohammad-Reza] Nematzadeh [Minister of Industries] regarding Haj Kazem Haj Tarkhani's request concerning the Boustan Iran Company.
Due to fatigue, I did not attend the Party Council meeting or the joint meeting of MPs and executive officials of the Islamic Republican Party, and I came home earlier.
