After the meeting, two clerics from Mazandaran came and conveyed the Mazandaran clergy's complaint against the governor. In the evening, there was a meeting of the "National Group"; we were about eighty people, and elections were held and the work was completed, and two people were elected to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Manila.
Then, I attended the [Central] Council of the Islamic Republican Party; the discussion was about the nationalization of foreign trade, with which only Engineer Taheri disagreed.
At night, I attended a joint meeting of executive officials and party representatives. The agenda was criticism of the party and the newspaper, almost all of which was justified and all indicative of organizational weakness and a lack of party cohesion and discipline. Mr. Beheshti defended [the party] somewhat, and I also accepted the criticisms, but I said that the majority of those present do not fulfill their party duties and expectations fall solely on us few founders of the party.
At night, we were guests of Mr. Lahouti; he had complaints against the Imam and us regarding why he was not supported during the Kouchesfahan incident. One must speak with him to calm and settle his feelings. The children participated in the discussion.
