In my office, Engineer Bahram Pour and a group of researchers came and presented two important and innovative projects. One was for deceiving radar during military movements, and the other was glass wires [optical fiber], both of which have extensive and strategic applications in our country.
The Majlis administrative officers also came, and we consulted on the Majlis's administrative affairs. Early in the evening, we attended a meeting with Mr. Sayyad Shirazi, Mr. Rahim Safavi, the President, the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister, and Ahmad Agha. They gave a report on Operation Valfajr 1. Weaknesses in management and training were obvious. The operation had been unsuccessful, and after many martyrs and a large number of wounded, they had returned to their original positions. We discussed the next plans. It was decided that by next Saturday they would finalize the plans and present them. They said that during this operation the enemy had launched 37 attacks and fired about 1.5 million artillery and mortar shells. Late at night I arrived at the Majlis and worked until very late.
