Full text of the diary:
At 9:00 a.m., I went to the University of Tehran to inaugurate the Conference on Religion, Cultural Development, and the Third Plan. It has been organized by the Islamic Propaganda Organization and several religious cultural institutions. We visited the exhibition and after the report of Mr. [Mohammad Javad] Abolghasemi, [the head of the conference organizing staff], I gave a speech in Allameh Amini Hall. Most of the listeners were professors and scholars. I gave a detailed speech about the efficiency and importance of the Islamic Revolution and the necessity of dynamic ijtihad and the government's assistance to the seminaries, and then I had a short interview with the news network about Afghanistan and emphasizing the necessity of non-interference by foreign forces.
I went to my office. By 4 p.m., I was done. Mr. [Abdolmajid] Mozaffari, the new chargé d'affaires in Macedonia, came and consulted on Iran's policy in the Balkans; he has useful information about the Balkan region.

India is openly talking about war with Pakistan, and Pakistan has put its air force on high alert. India wants to suppress Lashkar-e-Taiba and Junbish-e-Muhammad, which the United States has declared as terrorists, and Pakistan has frozen their bank accounts today.
Some of Afghanistan's Pashtun tribes warned Hamid Karzai that if the U.S. repeated bombing the convoy of Pashtun tribal leaders, they would take up arms.
A number of Latin American Jewish organizations have issued statements condemning Israel's violence against the Palestinian people, saying that Israel's violence is worse than that of the apartheid government in South Africa, because they did not attack their people with tanks, artillery and helicopters. In the United States, it was announced that a person who had planted explosives in his shoes on a plane yesterday was arrested, and he is a British citizen.
