An extremely important meeting of the Ministry of Information officials was held, along with a report on the judiciary's indifference to the complaints of defendants released in the so-called serial killings case, as well as the harsh behavior of Seyyed Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi, the head of the judiciary, towards them and the threat to resign by the provincial intelligence directors.

A meeting was held with Ali Malekouti, president of Islamic Azad University, Serab branch, regarding his dismissal from the university.

Meeting with Youssef Zamorodian, a veteran Tehran merchant, to discuss the punishment and arrest of Ali Zamorodian and significant financial matters concerning the late Tavaliti in London.

Meeting with Sheikh Mahmoud Mohammadi Iraqi, accompanied by participants of the Imam Mahdi seminar.

Full Entry of the Day:

I visited the Islamic Azad University and was persuaded to dismiss Ali Malekouti. He requested an extension; he lives in Qom and only goes to Serab on weekends.

Mr. Youssef Zamorodian, a philanthropist from the Tehran market and benefactor of Dar al-Shifa School in Qom, came to discuss his time in prison and the punishment of Mr. Ali Zamorodian. He praised the Zamorodian family for remaining loyal to the revolution despite their son’s punishment. He mentioned that he traveled to London on behalf of Imam Sadiq University and resolved the issue of obtaining funds for the late Abol-Fazl Tavaliti from the bank by negotiating with the Amir Hosseini family. Before the revolution, about three million pounds had been deposited in the bank, but the bank refused to release the money, claiming the Amir Hosseini family were the heirs. Eventually, through an agreement and receiving a share, the funds were released, which have now accrued to approximately 19 million pounds. He requested that I inform Fati, the head of the Special Diseases Foundation, to collaborate with them on constructing a cancer hospital, as their charity group is ready to provide two billion tomans in assistance.

A group of Ministry of Information officials arrived. They expressed deep concern over the fact that the dismissed interrogators were publishing pamphlets against the ministry's managers, and that the judiciary had not addressed the complaints of tortured defendants, instructing them instead to appeal to the military judiciary. They reported feeling insulted during their meeting yesterday with Mr. Seyyed Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi, the head of the judiciary, and mentioned that the intelligence directors had gathered and threatened to resign collectively. They sought assistance in resolving the issue.

In the evening, the organizing committee for the seminar on the existential dimensions of Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his return) came. Mr. Mahmoud Mohammadi Iraqi, the head of the Islamic Propagation Organization, presented a report, and I spoke about the significance of the savior of mankind, the consensus among all heavenly religions on this matter, and the existential impact of Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his return) during the period of occultation.
