A Very Important Meeting with Senior Officials of the Ministry of Intelligence Regarding the Behavior of the Reformist Government and the Denial of the Release of the Defendants Known as the Chain Murders

A meeting with Seyyed Reza Zowarei, a then-legal member of the Guardian Council, and a report on the Council's decisions for the 6th Majlis (parliament) elections. After being removed from the head of the Organization of Registration of Deeds and Properties, he requested a transfer to the Assembly.

Mr. [Mohammad] Rezaei, the representative of Bandar Abbas, along with Mr. Engineer Forosat, came. Mr. Forosat presented a plan to build a three-story hotel on the water in the form of a ship. He has entered into negotiations with Kish Island and wanted me to approve it. I said that I need to be convinced of the validity of the work; before the revolution, Iran had two recreational ships as hotels, which were not economically viable.

The mourning procession of the employees of the Presidential Office came. They engaged in some chest-beating and mourning, and I also gave a short speech for them.

In the afternoon, Mr. [Seyyed Mottahhar] Kazemi, the representative of Khalqhal, who, according to the Guardian Council's decision, was changed from second to first place, came along with the head of the religious school and the Friday prayer leader of Khalqhal, and reported on the mischief that followed the annulment of 21 ballot boxes, which changed the outcome; it caused a lot of damage, and the Friday prayer leader's house and the school were burned. They complain about the governorate and demand that the Judiciary follow up on the matter.

A group of managers from the Ministry of Intelligence, [Mr. Tehran, Pakdaman, Rezaei, Meshaei, and Amir Khan], came and reported on mysterious movements related to ethnic and religious killings. They consider it dangerous and a result of the liberal policies of Mr. Khatami's government and sought a solution. They denied the news of the release of some of the defendants in the chain murders and said that no one has been released. The issue of the damages caused by drought is being widely discussed on television, which is worrying.
