Meeting with Seyfollah Dad, the then-deputy minister of cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, and complaints about Ayatollah Khamenei's misinterpretations.

Meeting with Seyed Hossein Eirvani.

Mehdi Hashemi's complaints about Jalil Khabareh, the then-CEO of Sadra.

The publication of a new statement by the Guardian Council and the introduction of a decision-making process to invalidate the elections in the Tehran constituency.

Meeting with Hossein Mahloojee, the former minister of mines and metals, and complaints about the Organization for Inspection of the entire country and the Tehran judiciary for fabricating cases against him, and Hashemi's phone call to Ebrahim Raisi, the then-head of this organization (Mahloojee was eventually acquitted of the charges after years).

Mohammad Hashemi's report on Seyed Mohammad Khatami's anger and anxiety in the cabinet meeting and Ali Younesi's report on the problems of the Ministry of Intelligence.

Hashemi's account of the pressures of the principlists on Mehrjouei and other matters on the reformist government and Ayatollah Khamenei's statements and the recent statement of the Guardian Council and the closure of newspapers and the deep concerns of the reformist government.

Mr. [Habibollah] Mohammadian, the Friday prayer leader of Zahedan, came. Most of his conversation was expressing dissatisfaction with Mr. Khatami's performance and the weakening of Islamic forces and the strengthening of opponents; especially the strengthening of Sunnis against Shiites and that Mawlavi Abdolhamid [Esmaeilzehi, the Sunni Friday prayer leader and principal of Darul Uloom Zahedan school] has been made the ruler of the destiny and government managers, in his opinion, pay more attention to him than the representative of the Supreme Leader. He said the situation has become such that Dr. [Hossein Ali] Shahriari, the removed president of Zahedan University, says that they have handed over the revolution to them. He also complained about the Leader's office that they do not pay attention to the opinions of people like him and do not give them an appointment.

Mr. Seyfollah Dad, the deputy minister of cinema of the Ministry of [Culture and] Islamic Guidance [came]; to justify his performance, which has been questioned, and especially because the Leader wrote harsh words in the margin of a report about the deviation of cinema in the past two years, he is upset. He said, at least it is better than other cultural sections and has not gotten worse than before. He had also brought some Persian films for me to watch.

[Mr. Seyed Hossein Eirvani], the son of the late [Seyed Abdolmajid] Eirvani, a member of the [Central Council] of the [Combatant Clergy] [Association of Tehran] came. He talked about their family situation after the death of their father; they have problems. We had lunch with Mohsen and Mehdi at noon; these kinds of lunches are usually work-related. Mehdi, [CEO of Offshore Installation Company], complains about Mr. [Jalil] Khabareh, [CEO of Iran Marine Industrial Company (Sadra)], that he is doing the construction of equipment slowly. Statement [number] 14 of the Guardian Council has been issued, which smells of the invalidation of the Tehran elections; it has explained many important flaws.

In the afternoon, Mr. [Hossein] Mahloojee, [the former minister of mines and metals]

came. He complains about the [Organization] for Inspection of the entire country and the [Tehran] judiciary that they are bothering him unnecessarily. I told Mr. [Seyed Ebrahim] Raisi on the phone to investigate. My brother, Mohammad, [the executive deputy of the president], came after the cabinet meeting and said that Mr. [Seyed Mohammad] Khatami was very upset and could not finish the meeting and lashed out at the ministers of foreign affairs, intelligence, and interior, and Mr. [Ali] Younesi, [the minister of intelligence] also talked about the problems of the ministry, and overall, the government is in a state of worry and anxiety. The pressure of the right wing and the parliament and the recent words of the Leader, as well as the statement of the Guardian Council and the closure of newspapers and the arrest of some people, have increased their concerns.

Mr. Nelson Mandela has criticized Mr. [Robert] Mugabe, [the president of Zimbabwe].
