Report from Mohsen Hashemi on the mental and physical condition of Sheikh Abdullah Nouri in Evin Prison and Hashemi's advice to Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei.

Further consultations by Abdolali Ali Asgari regarding the possibility of Hashemi retracting his decision to withdraw from entering the Sixth Parliament.

Due to the upcoming holidays, I went to my office, unlike the usual Thursdays, and worked there until the evening. Mohsen said that [Alireza Nouri], the brother of Mr. Abdullah Nouri, mentioned that Mr. Nouri’s condition in prison is not good; he is fasting and has not been granted leave since Eid. His old neck pain has returned. They sought help for him to go to the hospital for treatment. I told them to ask Mr. [Gholam-Hossein] Mohseni [Ejei, Prosecutor of the Special Clerical Court] to approve it.

Mr. [Abdolali Ali] Asgari, [Head of the IRGC’s Cooperative Foundation], came again and said that many believe I should reverse my withdrawal. A group of parliament members is planning to make a formal request, and others from various institutions, groups, and individuals are also considering it. The leadership has even mentioned that they support it. I told them not to pursue this matter; I will not accept it, and I convinced him to drop the idea. My brother Mohammad also called to say that the Javan newspaper inquired about rumors that I might retract my withdrawal, which Mohammad denied. Fatima, [Head of the Foundation for Special Diseases], left for London for a conference on special diseases. As usual, Efat and some of the children went to the mountains at night and from there would attend mourning ceremonies.

Ethiopia announced that the war with Eritrea has ended, as they have regained the areas they lost to Eritrea in a war two years ago. In Pakistan, based on a ruling by the Supreme Court, the government announced that after three years, the military rule will end, and elections will be held. Previously, they had said this would take only a few months. The U.S. announced that the computer containing nuclear weapons documents that had been missing was found.
