Tasnim reported: "Nader Faryadshiran, who had appeared before the Culture and Media Court this morning (Sunday), was arrested. The former Iranian football coach had previously made statements against Mehdi Taj, the head of the Football Federation, which led to a complaint from the Federation."
Earlier, Nader Faryadshiran claimed in a TV program that Mehdi Taj, the head of the Football Federation, said at a meeting of the heads of football boards in Sari, "that if they do not approve me or if there are circumstances in which I cannot be a candidate, I will have my own person. Mr. Taj, he is an engineer here."
He had said, "Mr. Taj is not an engineer, but he knows engineering well. I say this meaningfully. If you are holding a conference, everyone should be an assembly, not a specific group. That's why I say that Mr. Taj is an engineer. If he is an engineer, I am also a professor. In the past, they gave coins, but at the Sari conference, they gave a ruling; this is a kind of ransom."
