Ladies and gentlemen, representatives of the Islamic Consultative Assembly,
Mr. President of the Supreme Court,
Mr. First Vice President,
Mr. Secretary of the Cabinet,
Mr. Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Deputy of the Judiciary,
Mr. Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Deputy of the Ministry of Justice,
Mr. Deputy for Legislative Affairs of the Islamic Consultative Assembly,
Greetings,

In the critical criminal matter of reforming the Code of Criminal Procedure and setting a limited timeframe for the request for retrial—similar to the timeframes in civil procedure—without considering the various repercussions and without providing a legal reference or solution for cases where the convicted party cannot submit a request within this timeframe, along with the proposal of exorbitant court fees conditioned on the acceptance of the retrial, which will be forfeited if not accepted, and then the higher costs for requesting Article 477, will lead to even greater corruption.

Are you aware of these corruptions?
Are you aware of the slaughtering of justice and fair trial?

Of course, there is no need to detail the resulting corruptions in this note, as all judges and esteemed attorneys can infer them, and if approved, you will practically be compelled to amend the law again in the future.

Moreover, there is no solution for those who cannot afford such costs when requesting a retrial, nor is there a defined authority for the review of inability to pay court fees.

This law you are about to pass concerns human lives, and do not, without realizing it (if indeed you are unaware), get your hands stained with the blood, wealth, and dignity of individuals by approving an erroneous law, facing the worldly and eternal consequences of it.
