In the late 2000s, Internet service providers suddenly refused to provide services to home subscribers above 128 bits, calling it the order of the Radio Communications Regulatory Organization.

At that time, no one knew the main reason, and after that, like other matters, this question was forgotten.

Now, on page 286 of the fourth volume of the oral history of communications in Iran, which deals with interviews with the then ministers and deputy ministers of the Ministry of Posts, Telegraphs and Telephones, Communications and Information Technology, the reason for this was revealed.

Mahmoud Khosravi, the then head of the Radio Communications Regulatory Organization, says in his memoirs: The report of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution was presented to the leader of the Islamic Republic that everything is being destroyed with broadband and it caused the youth to deviate.

Khamenei also orders: Don't hand over broadband for now.
