The tweets and efforts of Hojjatoleslam Dr. Mohsen Barahani that you may have previously noted, where he spoke of mercy and movement, have now come into a clearer light.

With the arrival of documents that are now being submitted, it has become evident that Professor Barahani is the lawyer for the assistant of the murderer and has, through all his influence and intermediaries—whose names I will not mention at this time—attempted to achieve a retrial in the Supreme Court. However, the panel of judges in this branch rejected the retrial based on the valid considerations of Sheikh Mohammad Jafar Montazeri and the non-involvement of Ali Akbar Bakhtiari, another member of this panel.

Mr. Professor Barahani,

I have numerous other cases that you have acquired through your reputation, which I mentioned in another note. I have a list of them and their outcomes, but I will refrain from discussing them further for the sake of the privacy of your respected clients.

However, there is no need to criticize or blame your colleagues for any potential physical effects on their anatomy and back veins, or for expressing human emotions towards the murdered colleague under the guise of "the fervor of professional biases." There should be no pressure for the Bar Association, "the Semnan Bar Association and human rights activists," "the legal profession and the people!" to advocate for "promoting a culture of forgiveness and non-violence!!" and "preserving the right to life!!" as soon as possible and "before the execution of the sentence," in order to seek consent for reducing the punishment of the assistant (your client).

If a human rights claim were made by the murderer, that would be debatable.

However, it seems that the life of the armed young murderer is treated as a means to an end.

At one moment, he is hired for financial gains to take risks, and at another, there is an attempt to save his life—not for his own sake, but this time to obtain leniency for the one who hired him!

We must not create a situation where, in the future, claims of "genuine" human rights from the legal community are no longer accepted.

The assassination attempt on the late Jafar Aqaee was one of the most severe crimes against lawyers, when the young lawyer was targeted with a firearm in front of his wife and small child.

Today, the wave of violence against lawyers has increased. Inciting insecurity against lawyers, judges, and others involved in establishing justice, by resorting to sacred means such as human rights, and misusing these sacred concepts, is an act that silences the oppressed and undermines the principles of "human rights," "forgiveness," and "the quest for justice."

The end should never justify the means or lead to a sacrifice.

Dear Mr. Barahani,

These claims were not for the sake of God. One must consider what the other tweets and claims aim to achieve.

For me, this has been clear for a long time. Some awaken to the truth, but it is unfortunate for those who wait to be jolted awake by the slap of reality.

Abdollah Abdi
