In the beginning, when I worked in the Ministry of Interior, women did not wear hijab.
The imam ordered that women must wear hijab or be expelled.
It was the first time that Bani Sadr took a stand on Islamic issues.
In the Supreme Council of the Revolution, Bani Sadr said, "What do you mean, I don't tell my wife to wear a headscarf, if she wants to wear it, it's fine." Religious issues are not forced.
But the imam gave a firm order that whoever does not want the hijab, settle his account and buy it back.
