The case is currently being heard by Branch 5 of the Criminal Prosecutor's Office of Tehran, presided over by Judge Shafi'i, and the defendant's final defense is scheduled to be taken next week, and an indictment will be issued soon to be sent to the Criminal Court of Tehran for trial.
The issue that is of interest in this case is that the defendant is trying to show that he was deprived of his will at the time of the crime and said that he was taking methadone and was suffering from severe depression, but the person who committed the murder with a previous motive and in this way, could not have been deprived of his will and undoubtedly made such a claim in order to escape punishment.
At the moment, the victim's son has declared his unconditional consent to his father, but the victim's mother, the other side of the case, wants to punish the accused.
