The Weightlifting Federation announced in a brief statement that Fatemeh Keshavarz, the Iranian national athlete in the 71 kg category, has left her accommodation hotel in León, Spain, and her mobile phone is switched off.
The Iranian delegation officials are following up on the matter, and it has also been reported to the Spanish police.
The World Youth Weightlifting Championships are currently taking place in Spain, with the Iranian national team participating in both men's and women's categories. The publication of the initial list of travelers to Spain in recent days had caused some controversies for this federation.
