هفدمین نامه سرگشاده سعید زیباکلام به رئیس قوه قضائیه

Dear Mr. Mohseni Ajei, Honorable Head of the Judiciary!

Greetings and wishing you honest service and good luck in this world and hereafter.

Dear Mr. Ajei! For several years, less than half of the people of Iran have been listening once or twice a week with the help of the government media to some advice and instructions of your Excellency in the gathering of the members of the Supreme Judicial Council of the country that "arrests should not be made..."; "Collaterals should not..."; "Proceedings should not be delayed..."; "There should be no arrest warrant..."; And so on. I, for my part, am not pleased to hear these statements indicating that people's rights are respected because I do not believe that these words will actually be implemented and become a practice. I know that in many countries that do not make big and global claims, they have implemented much more basic statements than these for years quietly and without various media shows.

Mr. Ajei! One day after Mrs. Mahsa Amini's death, on September 17, 2022, in a note titled "Mahsa Amini's death and a persuasive working group," I wrote: "Doesn't the Ministry of Interior and the Prosecutor's Office consider it appropriate to "Many institutions of the system should form a working group for the prosecution by adding a few university professors, lawyers and trusted and well-known political activists, so that the final report of the incident achieves the necessary persuasiveness and credibility?"
The advice of my self-confident servant was ignored by the high authorities, and the result was countless losses and wider and deeper discredit of the system in the eyes of the Iranian people.

Mr. Ajei! Watch the 8-minute clip about the disgraceful situation of the residents of the 62-unit building in Shiraz.

Mr. Judge! This is a special case of smoke rising from its stump, and that stump must be identified and treated. But as soon as possible, don't you think it is better to form a fact-finding committee with the participation of sound and firm representatives from the prosecution and representatives of the residents of that building and some trusted activists from Shiraz, and let the members of that committee inform the people of Iran at the various stages of their investigation so that this fire does not flare up ?

Mr. Judge! If you want the minority who still watch the government media to believe your correction statements about the corrupt and oppressive procedures of the judiciary, use this opportunity to show your sincerity.

"And the one who deceives will be brought on the Day of Judgment with his deceptions..."
