Mohammad Javad Zarif told Shargh newspaper:

We must change the threat-based view to the opportunistic one, that is, we must address domestic issues from the hijab to the internet, women, the private sector, companies, Iranians abroad, the youth of Generation Z, etc. We should see opportunities and not threats.

The Islamic Republic has reached a level of maturity and self-confidence that can have this paradigm shift. We should not lose sight of the fact that today Iran is in a situation where everyone makes any claims, but no one can look at Iran from the left. No one thinks that they can attack Iran or threaten Iran and their work will go unanswered.

Iran has not had such a situation in the past two centuries, which can be a platform for us to jump into the future and forward. Incidentally, those who chant a lot of slogans do not want to accept this achievement and still have a threat-oriented view, and this view is due to the fact that they have not yet believed that we have reached a level of power and maturity that we can have an opportunity-oriented view.

Snapback has become illegal since the U.S. withdrawal, meaning that there is no legal basis for stepback. During my time as a minister, I wrote several letters, and on July 11, 2021, I wrote a 200-page letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, proving that there is no snapback from a legal point of view, and I believe that those who talk about snapbacks are talking about a dead person.
