In today's Iran, "pool" is no longer just a water basin.  This word has become a body of meaning in people's minds.  From the day Ayatollah Hashemi died in a pool in a mysterious and suspicious way, public opinion believed that this was not just a simple accident.  Since then, "pool" has acquired a political meaning for Iranian society

Where opponents or critics may "die".

This is why when Yahya Rahim Safavi, one of the old figures and close to the core of power, said in an interview: I would like to become a martyr like Qassem Soleimani, not to die in a swimming pool, this sentence was not just a wish;  It was a clear political message.

He actually sent a message to those who made this word and turned it into a political symbol:

I am still in the line of the province, I am one of you - a reminder of the brave and brainy words and interviews of the son of Sardar - do not put me in the line of the opposition.

In fact, when a senior military official says such a sentence, he himself knows that the "pool" is no longer just water;  It is a sign of silent deletion.  And this means that this word is no longer just a memory of an event, but has become a part of today's Iranian political culture.
