The release of classified U.S. documents regarding the priority of defending Iran.

On September 10, 1977, a portion of the classified documents of the Jimmy Carter administration was released, in which it was emphasized that "defending Iran is a priority for the United States." These documents, formulated within the framework of Washington's security policies in the Middle East, indicated that Iran was recognized as a key US ally in the region at that time, and that maintaining its stability and security was a strategic priority for the White House. Simultaneously with the release of these documents, the front-page headline of Iran's newspapers was dedicated to "the liberalization of issuing construction permits for outside the Tehran limits."
