Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Continuation and Intensification of New US Sanctions

 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced:

Following the letter of the US President to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the announcement of its readiness to choose the path of diplomacy to resolve the unnecessary and artificial crisis created over Iran's peaceful nuclear program, the Islamic Republic of Iran entered into an indirect dialogue with the United States with a good-faith approach and with the support of national authority and trust.

During the three rounds of talks, the negotiators of the Islamic Republic of Iran have explained the legitimate positions and demands of the Iranian people based on a specific framework that is based on Iran's principled approaches in accordance with international law in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy and the end of oppressive sanctions, and have made serious efforts to reach a just, reasonable and lasting understanding.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, while emphasizing its commitment to the path of diplomacy and declaring its readiness to continue negotiations, does not tolerate approaches based on threats and pressure, all of which are contrary to the principles of the UN Charter and international law, and are designed to harm Iran's national interests and violate the human rights of Iranian compatriots. strongly condemns it and considers it another sign that the Iranian nation has the right to be suspicious and deeply suspicious of the seriousness of the United States in the path of diplomacy.

The continuation of these illegal behaviors will not bring about any change in Iran's logical, legitimate and based positions based on international law. Undoubtedly, re-experimenting with unsuccessful methods and techniques will only result in a repeat of the same costly failures of the past.
