On April 8, 1980, five months after the seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, relations between the two countries were severed by then-U.S. President Carter, and this event was highly welcomed in Iran!

Today, after more than four decades of those emotional days, there is still talk of Iranian-American relations, and this time the debate is about: Direct negotiations, yes or no?!

In May 1990, Ataollah Mohajerani wrote an article in the Ettela'at newspaper with the same title, i.e., direct negotiations.

Apparently, the important issues of Iran's foreign and domestic policy never diminish, but remain untouched for decades, and are discussed every year, month, and day, and do not reach any results. Such as relations with the United States, nuclear negotiations, and in domestic affairs, the hijab, music, concerts, etc.

A country that seeks growth and development should reduce its problems in various areas, not increase the number of them and leave them unresolved, and governments come and go, and a large part of the country's budget is spent on explaining and justifying disputes rather than resolving them.
