Habibi was arrested in April 2023 for protesting the serial poisonings of school students in Iran
The union called the Iranian government's action "a systematic suppression of teachers' voices for justice."
It is reported that Mr. Habibi had gone to court today with his lawyer after receiving the order to carry out the sentences of the Shahriar Revolutionary Court, and was "immediately arrested and transferred to Evin Prison."
The Coordination Council of Teachers' Trade Unions said, "This action is just another step towards silencing the voice of justice-seeking and the tireless efforts of trade union activists who expose injustices and pursue the rights of teachers and students."
Habibi was arrested in April 2023 for protesting the serial poisonings of school students in Iran, when the Revolutionary Court of Shahriar sentenced him to six months and one day in prison on charges of "propaganda against the state."
