The latest precise plan was to keep the nation preoccupied with the leadership of a respectable man from the prominent Shushtari family, Rahim Qomshi, supposedly working to lift the house arrest of Sheikh Mehdi Karroubi and Mir-Hossein Mousavi—while they are fully aware of the current reality of their confinement.

As the grand project of Sheikh Mehdi Nasiri's move to Canada unfolded, the story of his arrest in Tus emerged. Now, public and special clerical prosecutors in Mashhad must wait to determine whether he will remain in prison for the continuation of this project or not—and if so, whether he will stay in Mashhad or if the case will be transferred to Tehran or Qom.

These distractions shape the current situation.
