The New York Times reported that the United States presented its first official proposal regarding the nuclear agreement to Tehran on Saturday, coinciding with a report from the agency that indicated a significant increase in Iran's uranium reserves close to weapons-grade over the past three months.
This proposal consists of a list of key points and calls for a complete halt to uranium enrichment by Iran and the formation of a regional consortium for the production of nuclear energy with the participation of Iran, Saudi Arabia, Arab countries, and the United States.
This is the first written proposal from Steve Wittekov, the chief U.S. negotiator, since the negotiations began in April.
