What did the Europeans do? They sided with the United States. At first, they opposed the U.S. in statements and declarations, but they took no action. Europe's commitments to Iran were not contingent on the fulfillment of commitments by the U.S., but rather on the implementation of commitments by Iran.

The Europeans not only failed to implement their commitments under the JCPOA, but they also did not fulfill the commitments they made after the U.S. withdrawal.

After the U.S. left the JCPOA, Europe made two commitments, yet not even one of those 11 commitments was implemented. Therefore, the Europeans are not in a position to make demands against Iran, and for this reason, the resolution passed at the Board of Governors has no legal standing and is legally baseless.

Iran has stated that it is ready to return to its commitments, but we have not forgotten what hardships were imposed on the people of Iran during the pandemic due to the sanctions. They must show that they are ready to compensate for the damages.

Europe and the U.S. should know that they are not in a position to claim anything. They must be accountable, and only by creating balance and an equal position can we reach an agreement.

The basis of the new agreement will definitely be the JCPOA, an agreement on which months, and perhaps tens of thousands of hours, of work have been spent in Iran, the U.S., Europe, Russia, and China. An agreement that, according to the Europeans, is one of the most important diplomatic achievements in the world.

It is necessary to discuss again some of the topics and dates that we have passed due to the U.S. violating the JCPOA.
