Aqatahrani: God willing, the Guardian Council will approve the Hijab and Chastity bill tomorrow / There is no justification for backing down from hijab

Aqatahrani, the representative of Tehran in the Parliament, said:

A report has been prepared regarding the Hijab and Chastity bill, and it has been discussed in the assembly; therefore, 32 agencies should engage with this issue, but unfortunately, only 2 agencies have entered, one of which was the Ministry of Interior and the other was the Law Enforcement Force.

The issue of hijab and chastity has a religious aspect, which is one thing, and it has a legal aspect, which may lead someone to say, "I have no religion," well, don't have one, but our country has laws. This issue was introduced 43 years ago in the Cultural Revolution Council, and for whatever reason, some did not comply.

But now, it has gone to the Guardian Council for the third time, and God willing, they will accept it tomorrow, and this will be the final stage, so that it doesn't turn out that only the Law Enforcement Force is in the field; definitely, the Parliament will assist as well. Hijab and chastity have political, moral, social, and religious significance, so there is no justification for backing down from it.
