Khatami's strong criticism of the amendment of some articles of the election law by the Majlis: it is an intensification of the movement towards self-destruction

Seyyed Mohammad Khatami warned among a group of reformers and his advisers about the removal of the Nizam Republic following the amendment of articles of the election law by the parliament and interpreted this action as an intensification of the movement towards self-subversion:

Seyyed Mohammad Khatami reminded: It has been said many times that the great problem that is the source of crises and has endangered the future of Iran and the fate of the nation is that day by day in practice we have become further away from the republican system and in thought it is also based on the vision and understanding of Islam. which does not accept the vote and opinion of the people and their unique role in establishing the social system and leading the society towards all-round development.

Among the factors that make elections as the most important way of establishing democracy and democracy compatible with religion ineffective, are discretionary supervision and wrong procedures in the election process. which instead of monitoring from the position of defending the rights and votes of the people and creating an obstacle for the establishment and stability of the dictatorship, has strengthened the guardianship over the people and their votes.

With the plan that is going back and forth between the Parliament and the Guardian Council on the issue of elections, it is tried to stabilize and recognize those wrong and crisis-creating procedures and to remove the meaning of the election institution.

Contrary to the expectation that there would be self-correction in terms of structure, approach and behavior in order to save the country and provide a better life for the people, apparently the movement towards self-subversion is intensifying.

Seyyed Mohammad Khatami asked all political activists, all thinkers and benefactors of the country and loyal to the ideals of the revolution (typically forgotten) especially the parties and movements of benevolence with whatever orientation they have, especially from the reform front to:

Firstly, to warn the authorities and those involved, secondly, to enlighten the public opinion and punish it regarding the danger that is added to the dangers of the past, and thirdly, refrain from any legal and civil action that might lead to the solution of the problem for the benefit of the people.
