The capture of Langarud by Ehsanollah Khan; the leader of the Jungle Movement.

On August 21, 1921, Ehsanollah Khan, one of the leaders of the Jungle Movement, attacked and captured the city of Langarud. This news was met with concern in Tehran.

The Qajar government, which saw itself on the verge of collapse, could not accept this humiliation. This day showed that the Qajar government, despite British support, had become isolated in the region.

This isolation had a direct impact on the coup d'état of 1921 a few years later.
