Mohammad Nasiri said, "Every day, I wish for death from God. Because wherever Mohammad Nasiri was, with all these honors and medals, he had no financial or livelihood concerns. At 78 years old, I shouldn't be worried about paying rent and making ends meet. It is my constant worry, and it eats away at me like a pest."

The holder of three Olympic gold, silver, and bronze medals and five World Weightlifting Championship gold medals spoke with *Iran Varzeshi* about his situation after returning from Canada and being bought out by the railway company:

"At 78 years old, with all the pain and illness I have, because I no longer had the strength to go to work like a regular employee, I accepted the offer to be bought out."

"The insurance I had here has also been cut off, and I have no solution! God knows that in this difficult economic situation, I am barely managing to keep going and survive. *Mohammad Nasiri*, whose name is in the Hall of Fame of World Weightlifting and Sports History as an Iranian champion, should not be worried about rent and daily living expenses at the age of 78."

In an interview on Ayatollah Khomeini's portal, dated March 15, 2014, regarding his historic meeting with Ayatollah Khomeini, in response to the question *"What was the main topic of your discussion in this meeting?"*, he says:

"We always wanted our national anthem to be played whenever we won in any competition. For this reason, when we met with the Imam, I thought it was a good time to bring up this subject. The Imam, with his unique calmness, listened to me and said that the responsible authorities should take action."

*(At that time, the national anthem of the Pahlavi regime was still being used.)*

He also mentioned:

"I was Haj Ahmad Agha's fitness coach in Qom, and for this reason, I became acquainted with him and the Imam. Haj Ahmad also played football and, in fact, he was a capable football player who trained under Homayoun Behzadi."
