Urgent / The decision to liberalize the import of iPhones was communicated to the country's customs

Forood Askari, the head of Iran's customs, announced the announcement of the decision of the Council of Ministers regarding the lifting of the ban on the import of any type of smartphone with the Apple brand.
According to the Public Relations Department of Iran Customs, the Acting Director of Iranian Customs, referring to the fact that Dr. Aref, the First Vice President, notified the relevant agencies of the approval of the Council of Ministers regarding the lifting of the ban on the import of all types of mobile phones with the Apple logo, which was approved by the Council of Ministers this week, for implementation.  According to the provisions of this decree, the import of any type of smartphone with the Apple brand is allowed, and the country's customs are also required to perform customs formalities and clear this model of mobile phones.
Regarding the amount of import duties on iPhones, Askari said: According to the provisions of the approval letter announced by the First Vice President, the relevant import duties in the current year for phones over $600 according to row 60 of Table No. 16 of the country's budget law for the year 1403, 15% in commercial procedures and 30% in other procedures, and in the case of phones of $600 and below in accordance with the relevant regulations. It will be 5 percent in the commercial procedure and 6 percent in other procedures.
