I was at home. I spent a lot of time reading [the diary and] the memoirs of 1978, 1979, and 1980, which I have not written before, and recently Mr. [Abbas] Bashiri is organizing my published materials [= interviews, speeches, and notes] from these years in the form of memoirs; it is interesting.
Part of the time was spent reading the statements of a counter-revolutionary named [Hossein] Boroujerdi, who said in an interview with Bahram Chobineh in Europe about the period of struggle and after the revolution and the war, etc., and [in a book titled "Behind the Scenes of the Islamic Revolution"] on an Internet site, claiming that there was a committee and a military, and that he weaved together lies and fantasies as he wanted, and that it was seasoned with some real events to give the impression of truthfulness. Unfortunately, these days there are many such works and major distortions in history; although it causes distrust [in the content] of the Internet and also the work of the counter-revolution; because it has many signs of lies. Russia and China have also joined the protesters of the unilateralism of the United States in Iraq issues, and Canada has also announced that there should be no war without the permission of the [UN] Security Council, but Australia has said that it will send troops to the Persian Gulf.
Today, during Friday prayers, there were violent attacks on the government and parliament due to anti-religious and anti-revolutionary movements and problems in society. Mr. [Seyed Mohammad] Khatami, [President], began his trip to India, but some newspapers, recalling his statements in Pakistan in support of Kashmiri Muslims, are trying to have a negative impact on the news of the trip and have said that the failure to announce the news of the trip by high-ranking Indian officials is due to Mr. Khatami's stances.
The statement of the [Six-Medieval Foreign Ministers' Meeting in] Istanbul was published, emphasizing the necessity of the UN's decisions being the ruling party and opposing the unilateralism of the United States, and also calling on Iraq to comply with the resolutions of the [UN] Security Council. During the summit negotiations, reporters overheard part of the confidential negotiations, which, upon being discovered, Turkish officials temporarily suspended to resolve technical issues; among the statements made at that time was the opposition of [Saud Al-Faisal], the Saudi Foreign Minister, to raising the issue of Palestine in the statement, which caused Saudi Arabia to be disgraced.
