I went to the Majlis at seven in the morning. Until eight-thirty, I read the reports and took care of the administrative work. Mr. [Khosrow] Tehrani, head of the Prime Minister's Office Intelligence Department, and his colleagues came; they wanted explanations about the future of the [Ministry of] Intelligence. They complained about the Prime Minister's lack of confidence in them.

I went to the Majlis at seven in the morning. Until eight-thirty, I read the reports and took care of administrative matters. Mr. [Khosrow] Tehranian, head of the Prime Minister's Information Office, and his colleagues came; they wanted explanations about the future of the [Ministry of] Information. They complained about the Prime Minister's lack of confidence in them. Messrs. Moeinpour and the representative of the Advisory Office in the Air Force came. They gave a report on the Air Force. They criticized the Army's new plan and wanted the Army's construction work transferred back from the Ministry of Housing to themselves. They invited us to go for a rest to the Air Force camp in Babolsar. Dr. [Musa] Zargar and the members of the organizing committee for the international medical seminar came and gave a report on the seminar program. About one thousand five hundred physicians from around the world [at this seminar] will participate. About three hundred and fifty papers have been submitted. I spoke to them and gave them some advice. They left satisfied; it could be a useful undertaking. Mr. Asghari came and asked for the chairman of the Shemiran Committee to be replaced. I spoke with Mr. Nategh [Nouri, Minister of the Interior]; he said that if Mr. Imam Jamaranī accepts the responsibility and stays there, they agree with him. Mr. [Parviz] Malekpour, the Zoroastrian representative [in the Majlis], came and asked for the lifting of the seizure of the "Giv Charitable Foundation," which after the Revolution had come under the control of the Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office, and wanted help for the release of [Sargoun] Beit-Oshana [the Assyrian and Chaldean Christian representative in the Majlis].

Dr. [Abbasali] Zali [Deputy Minister of Agriculture] also came and spoke about the problems of [the Ministry of] Agriculture. Mr. [Mohammad Hassan] Zorq [Deputy Director of IRIB for Political Affairs] came and consulted about news policy; I gave him some advice. In the afternoon, we had a meeting to revise the positions [of the Islamic Republican Party], then the party's Central Council, and then a meeting of the Arbitration Council, where the complaint of the board of directors of the Carpet Company against the Prime Minister was raised. Ali - my sister's son - had come from Libya; he was studying there on a Libyan scholarship. He had some unfounded criticisms of our ambassador; it should be investigated. Mr. [Reza] Amrollahi [head of the Atomic Energy Organization] came and asked for help in vacating the Bushehr atomic energy facilities that had been occupied by the Navy, and reported on the tender for completion of the project.
