Today as well, I stayed at home all day. The first day of the week is the day of the war, and an elaborate ceremony is being held at Behesht-e Zahra. I spent most of my time reading, resting, and writing my overdue memoirs. Messrs. [Sheikh Hassan] Sanei and [Mohammad Reza] Tavassoli came to visit.
In the afternoon, Mr. [Mohammad Mahdi] Rabbani Amlashi came. We talked about the general situation and mostly about himself, as he has no job. Regarding his future responsibility, it was decided that he should give up going to Qom. It was suggested that he become the Imam's representative on the Supreme Defense Council or take some other position that would be affiliated with the Imam.
At night, Dr. Velayati [Minister of Foreign Affairs] came. He gave a report on his trip to China and Bangladesh. He spoke of the influence of the Revolution among the people of Bangladesh and the need to strengthen relations, and said that the Chinese had agreed to provide us with weapons unofficially, through companies they have in Hong Kong. He complained about the [Islamic Revolutionary] Guards, saying that they had not sent the necessary supplies to Lebanon. He proposed that the chairmanship of the Shemiran Revolution Committee be entrusted to Mr. Imam Jamaranī. Some of the time was spent watching the parade of the armed forces at Behesht-e Zahra.
