At night, I had spoken by telephone with Mr. President. It was agreed that he would come to meet the Imam, and then he came here with Ahmad Aqa, and we discussed the trip and the war and... Mr. [Mohammad Gharazi], the Minister of Oil, came with a group of workers who had brought under control Well Number Three at Nowruz - and had put an end to the catastrophe of the oil leak and the destruction of the Persian Gulf environment- They described their work, and I praised and thanked them.  I spent most of my time reading the reports from the past six days and writing the delayed memoirs, and left part of it for the coming days. In the afternoon, the children went to the doctor and to a party, and I stayed alone at home studying, writing, and resting.

At night, the prime minister called. I told him that the army's housing construction projects should be left to them so that they could solve their housing problem more quickly. During the provisional government, these projects were taken away from them and assigned to the Ministry of Housing. Mr. [Mohammad Mahdi] Rabbani Amlashi called and asked me to seek the Imam's permission for him to go to Qom; because for now he has no work in Tehran. I consulted with Ahmad Aqa; he did not agree that we should put it to the Imam this way. Because it is not the Imam's custom to order someone to stay.
