Dr. Majid Abbaspour, [President's technical adviser], came and requested the foreign currency needed to buy materials for the chemical, microbial and radioactive defense industry. Discussions were held about the investigation committee on Iraq issues and movements. He said about the ambiguity of responsibilities and lack of support. I said that Mr. [Syed Mohammad Baqer] Hakim, [Speaker of the Supreme Assembly of the Islamic Revolution of Iraq], is complaining about the inactivity of the committee. I pointed out the need to obtain the approval of [Mr. Velayati], the Minister of Foreign Affairs, for the program of the movements.

Mr. [Hasan] Vaezi, the new manager of the radio, came. He talked about the justification of the radio managers to support the programs and policies of the government and asked for my opinion about the goals and policies of propaganda. He asked for the budget and the welfare of the personnel.

I participated in the Fatiha meeting of Ayatollah [Syed Shahabuddin] Najafi [Marashi] in Shahid Motahari Mosque. The meeting was organized by the leadership. Mr. [Mohammed Taqi] Falsofi and others who were around me admired the policies of the government.

Dr. [Hasan] Rouhani came. We discussed the orders of the Supreme National Security Council and policies related to the Persian Gulf crisis. In the evening, Dr. Hashemi [Golpaigani] came for the order of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution. The Supreme National Security Council had a meeting. It was decided to receive the Iraqi delegation with the oil minister. It was agreed to establish an [Iraqi] embassy and renew relations and a telephone line. The policy and content that can be negotiated with the Iraqi delegation were determined. I worked until half past eight and came home.
